1. Overview
Service Rat ("the App") is a social deduction game supporting Pass & Play, LAN, and Online multiplayer modes. We believe that what happens in the town stays in the town. This policy outlines how your data is handled - or rather, how we avoid handling it.
The App is designed to function without user accounts or registration. We do not collect your real name, email, or any directly identifying personal information.
2. Data Handling & Storage
Local Data: All game-related data, including player nicknames entered during a round, is stored strictly on your device's local storage. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third-party databases. Once you reset the game or delete the App, this data is purged.
Multiplayer Data: When using LAN or Online multiplayer modes, player nicknames and in-game actions are transmitted between devices over WebSocket connections. In LAN mode, data stays within your local network. In Online mode, data is relayed through our game server. We do not store game session data after the game ends - all multiplayer data is kept in memory only for the duration of the session and shredded immediately after.
Open Games List: Online rooms are private by default. If the host turns on "Open to everyone", the room appears on a public list inside the App until the game starts. The list shows only the room code, the host's nickname, the number of seats taken and whether the room has voice chat; it never shows the other players' nicknames.
Automatic Data Collection: We use industry-standard tools to monitor App performance. These services collect anonymous technical data, such as device model, OS version, and time spent in the App. No personal files or private communication are ever accessed.
3. Third-Party Services
To keep the app stable and free, we use the following services:
Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (Google LLC): Used to track anonymous usage patterns and technical bugs. This helps us fix crashes before they reach your table.
firebase.google.com/support/privacy
Unity Ads (Unity Technologies): Used to display optional rewarded ads. Unity Ads may collect your device's advertising ID and anonymous gameplay data to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. You can reset your advertising ID or opt-out of personalized ads in your device settings.

Discord (Discord Inc.): Used for the optional voice chat in Online rooms. Our server creates a voice channel on the Service Rat Discord server, named only after the room code, and gives the room an invite link; no nicknames or game data are sent to Discord. The voice chat itself happens in the Discord app under your own Discord account, and Discord's privacy policy applies to it. Other members of the Service Rat Discord server may be able to see and join a room's voice channel while it exists. The channel is deleted when the room closes.

4. Children's Privacy
Service Rat is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided identifiable data through third-party services, please contact us for immediate remediation.
5. CCPA & GDPR Compliance
Depending on your location, you have rights regarding your data. Since we do not store personal information on our servers, we fulfill these rights by:
- Right to Deletion: Simply clear the App cache or uninstall the App to remove all local data.
- Right to Opt-Out: You can opt-out of anonymous analytics via the App settings and manage ad personalization in your system settings.
6. Changes to This Policy
As the app evolves, we may update this policy. Any changes will be posted here. Continued use of the App signifies your acceptance of the updated terms.
