Blueprint Preview
Blueprint Preview hands the CEO a secret look at the next three blueprints waiting in the draw pile. No one else sees them, and the CEO can describe that peek honestly or invent it whole. It's Service Rat's version of the Secret Hitler power called Policy Peek.
What it does
When the directive triggers, the app privately shows the CEO the top three blueprints in the order they'll be drawn next Shift. That's it: no card is removed, discarded, or reordered. The power is pure information, and information that only the CEO holds. They can report it accurately to steer the table, shade it, or fabricate a reading entirely.
When it unlocks
Blueprint Preview is the small-game directive. It appears only in 5–6 player games, and only at the 3rd Sabotage blueprint. In 7–10 player games the third-Sabotage slot is occupied by Extraordinary Shift instead, so Preview never shows up at larger tables.
This makes it a tightly scoped tool. By the third Sabotage in a five- or six-player game the board is already tense, with three of the six Sabotage slots filled, so a credible peek can swing the very next vote.
Strategy
As a Worker CEO
Tell the truth, then act on it. If you see "Sabotage, Sabotage, Modernization" coming, warn the table that the next government will be drawing from a poisoned well, and consider deliberately failing the next nomination to burn through bad cards, or pushing a trusted Chief Engineer who'll enact the lone Modernization if it surfaces. A truthful peek is most powerful when your subsequent moves visibly match what you claimed to see.
As a Saboteur or Rat CEO
The peek is a free, unverifiable claim. See three Sabotage cards and announce "all clear ahead" to lull the Workers into approving the next government. Or claim a dangerous draw to justify torpedoing a Worker-friendly nomination. Since no one can audit what you saw, the only check on your lie is consistency: if you "peek clean" and then a Sabotage lands next Shift, sharp Workers will remember.
Preview reveals order, not control. You learn what's coming but can't change it — so the value is entirely in how you talk about it and how you set up the next vote.
Where it fits in the bigger picture
Blueprint Preview is one of five CEO directives. See the full lineup and the unlock grid on the directives hub. Because Preview is exclusive to small games, it pairs naturally with the 5-player and 6-player guides. For the full Shift loop, start with How to Play.
The app shows the peek privately and keeps the rest of the table in the dark. Free on Android and iOS, no account.
